Club Showcase 2017
Wiregrass Ranch High School (WRHS) recently held its club showcase, allowing students to learn more information about clubs they are interested in joining. The club showcase was held on September 6, 2017 in the gym during student’s lunches. During this time students could ask current club members questions about the club and the requirements they must meet to join.
Each club had their own table decorated with information about the club. They had brochures, pictures, and other information for students to see what the clubs are about. They even had sign up sheets or remind codes there for students to sign up for the club.
Some of the clubs that participated in the club showcase were Student Council, Gaming Club, National Science Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, Class Clubs (2019, 2019, 2020,2021), Bulls Nation, Hobby Club, Key Club, and many others.
Some of these clubs have certain requirements to join. For example, National Science Honor Society requires students to have a certain overall GPA and unweighted GPA from science classes, as well as teacher recommendations. Other clubs, such as class clubs, are open for anyone in that grade level to join.
Senior Nate Kotlyn, the Bulls Nation president, believes the club showcase was a success.
“We had a lot of people sign up and that’s more people that will be able to participate in future club events,” Kotlyn explains.
Scholar Society and Bulls Nation sponsor Mrs. Swain was excited to see great success from the club showcase.
“Many students don’t realize how many clubs we have here at Wiregrass. This event gives everyone a chance to visit each club and find out if the club is a good fit for them. It is a great event,” Swain explains.
