2017 Cinderella Ball culinary competition
The 2017 Cinderella Ball Culinary competition was held last night at Land o’ Lakes High School. The competition features all the local High School Culinary programs.
A select few students from Wiregrass Ranch High School (WRHS) attended the competition, where they competed in two different groups. One of the groups made a strawberry shortcake that won everyone over, which awarded them the “People’s Choice Award.” The event marked the first time that Wiregrass Ranch won at this competition.
The students on the winning team were Amber Velose, T.J. Ricthell, and Colby Browne.
“The kids were super happy they won. We went on a field trip to Orlando the next day. So it was a nice little celebration,” Culinary Teacher, Chef Blythe explained.
The students visited the old hotel that Chef Blythe used to cook for. They were able to see how everything operated in a professional kitchen, taking notes for their possible future career in the Culinary industry.
