The Next Big Thing (NBT) music festival will be taking place in Tampa, at the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheater, on December 3rd.

The NBT 2016 lineup includes numerous popular artists such as The 1975, The Head & The Heart, Phantogram, Kongos, Capital Cities, Bishop Briggs, The Naked &Famous, Judah & The Lion, Lewis Del Mar, Weathers, Coin, and 888. The main featured artist is Coin.

This year’s lineup has some decent artists, however, last year’s lineup was a bit more exciting. Many of the artists that are performing this year, are not well-known. In 2015 however, there were popular artists, including Twenty One Pilots.

Wiregrass Ranch High School (WRHS) senior, Sabrina Dinan, shares her thoughts on the concert.

“I don’t really know that many of this year’s NBT artists, but I do know a few. I kind of wish they had more popular performers that everyone knows but I’m sure it will still be a fun concert,” Dinan said.

All of the set times will be posted exclusively on the 97X app and on their website, during the week of the show.

Each year, the event hosts a contest known as the “NBT Moment.” This year’s NBT Moment winner will receive a front row ticket and a meet and greet with the musical duo, Phantogram.

To enter the NBT contest, all you have to do is download the 97X app and click on the “NBT Moment” tab. Fill out your information and your name will automatically  be entered in the drawing.

There will be multiple other contests as well, posted on the 97X app and the homepage. Check the app weekly for updates.

933 Flz’s Jingleball tends to be more popular than 97X’s NBT, but NBT is much more affordable.

Ticket prices for NBT may vary from $38-$150, depending on how close the seats are.

Attendees must be aware that there is no re-entry to the event. If a guest leaves the venue, they may not re-enter later.

There will also be a parking fee of $10 per car. Cash will be the only acceptable method of payment.

All music lovers are encouraged to join the crowd at 97X’s Next Big Thing.
