Sweetea Cafe opens at Tampa Premium Outlets
A popular, family-owned Vietnamese tea and food cafe opened recently at the Outlets.
After the recent closing of Frogury, boba is back in Wesley Chapel at Tampa Premium Outlets’ Sweetea Cafe. This Vietnamese family owned restaurant opened earlier this year and has already received a lot of attention from the community for its authentic Vietnamese food, bubble/boba tea, and its calm environment; making it known as a great place to study, relax, and hang out with friends.
Senior Lauryn Waldron was disappointed after Frogury’s closing this past November, so she was intrigued after hearing about a new place where she could indulge in one of her favorite treats.
“I always return to Sweetea because their boba is really good and they’re super friendly,” Waldron said. “The atmosphere is also really nice. You could sit in there and do homework or catch up with friends.”
Sharing Waldron’s frustration, junior Gianna Picarelli was relieved to know she would no longer have to use up a lot of gas in her car to buy her favorite drink.
“I had seen the sign for a month or two before they opened and decided to check it out online, which was a good decision because I found out they sold boba and teas,” Picarelli stated. “Even if you don’t like teas, it’s a perfect place to study.”
Not only is this cafe an optimal place to study, but it also acts as a stage for juniors Victoria Angiulli and Madison Rivera. This Wiregrass duo got their start at Sweetea after a regular outing just for drinks and getting to know the owners. Angiulli recounted the interaction that led them to be returning performers.
“After coming back for drinks a couple times, they heard we were singers and asked us to come in. I loved the people there and boba tea has always been a favorite so it was a no-brainer,” Angiulli said.
With all the new developments that have come to Wesley Chapel, Sweetea Cafe seems to be one of the best additions to the area according to our Bulls.
“I would recommend Sweetea to anyone,” Angiulli continued. “It’s such an amazing place to go to just relax and enjoy some sweet music. All of their drinks are so refreshing and the room itself allows for the happiest times.”
