The Wiregrass Ranch High School (WRHS) girls volleyball team defeated Wesley Chapel in three sets during their Senior Night and last home game of the season.

Senior and co-captain Kristina Odom is saddened at the thought of her final season coming to an end.

“It is super sad with all of the seniors leaving, I do not want the season to be over,” said Odom.

With this being the last home game, WRHS hoped to end on a solid win. The bulls started quickly in the first set with a 7-o lead over Chapel. From there they continued to assert their dominance over their rival.

The first set went in favor of the bulls, as they took it 25-11. Odom reflecting on the win, said,  “We just needed to come together as a team and have a strategy to play.”

The second set took longer than the first, and included a couple of good rallies, but still easily went to the Bulls, 25-9.

In the third set, Chapel was really trying to get in the game. The score stayed close throughout the set. For the first time all night, Chapel took the lead 19-16. After a nail-biter ending, Bulls were victorious 25-22 with a killer spike by Kaelin Randle.

“I thought Chapel was going to win that set, but then the Bulls came back to win it,” said Noah Wiseman, a freshman at WRHS.

Cameron Rowe, a senior and manger of the volleyball team, shared his thoughts about the game.

“All of our seniors showed up to play, and the underclassmen performed just as well,” said Rowe. “I am extremely proud of all of them, and that was a really good way to end the year at home.”
