Senior Molly Doyle has been on the Wiregrass Ranch Varsity cheer team since her freshman year and has been cheering since she was seven years old. With 11 years of experience behind her, Doyle uses this to help be a leader on the cheer team.

“Being on the team for 4 years has given me the opportunity to cheer on the football team through the good and the bad and make friends of all ages,” Doyle said.  “Some of the best memories are cheering at the Chapel games, getting to go camp with my friends, and going to states and nationals.”

The varsity cheer team practices every Monday and Thursday from 2:30-4:30. During practices, the team gets ready for the football game that week with routines and cheers.

“At practices, we work on and perfect our stunts tumbling and cheers,” Doyle said. “I try to be a good leader by doing what I’m told and setting an example.”

Coach Wendy Trapeni has been the Varsity cheer coach for the past 2 years.

“Molly always has positive energy, always trying to keep things on a positive side with laughter and jokes,” Coach Trapeni said. “Her dedication is always at practices and she tries to find ways to be there even if for part of the time.”

Many of Doyle’s teammates would agree that she plays a very important role on the team.

“Molly is an all-around great cheerleader,” Senior Rachel Trapeni said. “She has an outgoing personality which shows when we are cheering on the football team during the games. Molly has a positive attitude when it comes to trying new skills, and she is super strong and can do any skill that is asked of her.”

Doyle does not plan to continue cheer in college, but wants to study to become a Pediatric Oncologist.
