Number 1 Billboard Artist: Camila Cabello
Camila Cabello’s album impresses fans as her first album release.
One thing I am always excited about when a new year rolls around is all the new music that will be released. The artist Camila Cabello kicked off the new year by releasing her very first album on January 12th, 2018. She first revealed that she was going to be publishing an album on December 5th, 2017, and I have been counting down the days until I would be able to get a chance to listen to it.
Cabello was previously a part of the girl band ‘Fifth Harmony’, and although I rarely listened to their music, Cabello’s vocals were incredible. On December 18th 2016, Cabello decided to leave the band and become a solo artist. This departure crushed many Fifth Harmony fans, but at the same time everyone was dying to know when Cabello would decide to release her own album.
Most of the time when an artist announces that they are going to be releasing a solo album, I don’t get my hopes up, considering how hard it is to release your own new music, but I had very high expectations for Cabello’s album.
When the album finally dropped, I was so excited to listen to it, hoping I wouldn’t be let down. The album has 11 songs included in it, and sure enough I loved every track! I was so impressed with her work, and it made me really proud to see her succeeding on her own. Her vocals did not disappoint, and I have been listening to the album on repeat for days. The songs range from up-beat tropical pop sounds, to sweet and pure piano melodies.
My personal favorite song off of the album is ‘Consequences’ because the lyrics have a very deep meaning and the song itself is absolutely beautiful. Another one of my personal favorites is ‘In the Dark’. It’s an upbeat song that promotes the message of not having to be perfect all the time, but being who you truly are.
Overall, I am very impressed with every song included in this album and I highly suggest everyone give it a listen!
