Animal Crossing: New Horizons, a social simulation game from the Animal Crossing series, is on the verge of its release next year in May 2020. The first trailer came out in June 11,2019 and the most recent trailer (released on September 4, 2019) gives more information about how the Animal Crossing: New Horizons features will look.

Some Animal Crossing features include: letting you design your character and your house, talking to NPC characters, and living a life you want in the game. The difference between Animal Crossing: New Horizons and all the other Animal Crossing games is that it’s multiplayer. Online allows up to eight players and local multiplayer allows up to four players on the same island with each Joy-Con for one player.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons has new features that include making tools from scratch, flowers regrowing rather than just dying, being able to wear back items like backpacks and creating dirt paths with a certain tool.

Katsuya Eguchi (a video game designer from Tokyo, Japan) is the creator of Animal Crossing. He was inspired by his family to make a game that allowed his them to see each other’s progress in a game without needing to be playing at the exact same time. Animal Crossing provides that option. Though you can’t all play at the same time, the game provides multiple game slots so that each member can have their own game and still be connected to each other. Eguchi’s idea was so successful, he was named producer on all Animal Crossing titles that were made, and are still to come out.

Animal Crossing has been around ever since 2001. The first Animal Crossing game was released in Japan for the Nintendo 64 (where Katsuya Eguchi first made it). The most recent game of Animal Crossing, that is out now, is Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp (the first Animal Crossing that’s available on your phone, hence the name “pocket camp”).

Animal Crossing: New Horizons will be localized in Spanish for Latin America, introducing Mexican culture elements once it launches on May 20th, 2020. This is a huge deal because Animal Crossing is starting to expand to other countries besides Japan and the United States and becoming more popular/global.

Even though Animal Crossing: New Horizons was initially suppose to be released in 2019, the date got pushed back to May 20, 2020. The reason for the delay was brief, stating they wanted “to ensure the game is the best it can be,” making Animal Crossing just as great as the fans expect it to be. Fans can expect to see the game available in May if all goes accord to plan.
