Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel announced
Nintendo has announced a sequel of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and fans are eagerly awaiting a release date.
Nintendo has released many Zelda games since their first release, The Legend of Zelda, in 1986. One of the more recent releases, Zelda: Breath of the Wild, released in 2017 to rave reviews, is set to have a sequel released soon.
It took 5 years to develop Zelda: Breath of the Wild, but with that time, the producers were able to include such elements as detailed software, high-definition visuals, and voice acting. The game is available on the Nintendo Switch and Wii U consoles and is a one-player game.
Zelda: Breath of the Wild begins with “Open your eyes.” Link, the legendary hero (the character you are playing), wakes up after a 100 year slumber with no memories and the kingdom, Hyrule, is in ruins. With only what can be found in the wild, Link has to save Hyrule from the impending doom called Calamity Ganon.
The release date for the sequel has yet to be reported. Nintendo seems to be making sure that the sequel launches around the same time as the new switch.
What can you expect from the sequel? Definitely a darker turn in the game series.
“The game is going to have a darker tone than Breath of the Wild, and will even be ‘a little bit darker’ than Majora’s Mask (via IGN),” Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma said.
With Breath of the Wild winning many awards, Zelda fans can only hope Breath of the Wild 2 will be just as successful.
