Is Tory Lanez’s new album “LoVE me NOw” worth listening to?
My opinion on Tory Lanez’s new album LoVE me NOw.
Tory Lanez is a Toronto-born singer and songwriter that has devoted many hours in the studio on other artists’ projects, but eventually started releasing his own mixtapes and slowly started making a name for himself as a rapper/singer. Lanez was also on MTV’s Wild N’ Out. Lanez first broke the internet with his hit single “Say it“ off his 2016 debut LP, I told you.
On March 2, 2018, Lanez released his second big project, “Memories Don’t Die,” reaching No.3 on the Billboard 200 after its first week out. Expectations were high with his third project dropping, considering his previous projects and the features he hinted at being on the new album. Lanez has some big names on this 15 track album, including: Chris Brown, 2 Chains, Meek Mill, Rich The Kid, Lil Baby, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Trippie Redd, NAV, Gunna, Bryson Tiller, PnB Rock, and Trey Songz.
If I had to pick the top three songs from the album, it would be “FeRRis WhEEL” (feat. Trippie Redd), “CuT me oFF” (feat. NAV), and “IF iT Ain’t rIGHt” (feat. A Boogie wit da Hoodie). My favorite song on the album is “CuT me oFF” because NAV’s sound works so well with Lanez; it produces a true musical masterpiece.
I love Tory Lanez because the things he sings about make you feel exactly what he’s talking about. The best music creators are the ones that can make you feel emotion in a song, and thats exactly what Tory Lanez is great at. Lanez is also hands down one of the best live performers to have ever graced music; his concerts are full of energy. Lanez says music comes straight from his “head, heart, soul, and his pain.”
It’s very apparent in this album how versatile Lanez is as a rapper/singer, creating great flows and memorable hooks. “LoVE me NOw” is currently number 4 on the Billboard 200, and the number 1 rap album this week. Overall, I think the album is outstanding and well worth listening to.
