Semi Professional-Premier League 2/25-2/27
The 26th week of the Premier League came to an end with two less games than usual because of the EFL cup final between Manchester United and Southampton on 2/26 at Wembley Stadium. The League table hasn’t changed much since last week with the largest move being made by Leicester City.
Leicester City has gone through a week of madness with the sacking of their title winning manager Claudio Ranieri. He lead them to a title that had a 5,000 to 1 chance of happening according to business insider. Leicester beat a fifth place Liverpool 3-1 bringing them up from 18th to 15th, their first win of 2017.
League leaders Chelsea faced an in form Swansea City and won 3-1 comfortably in the end after Fernando Llorente equalized for the Swans just before the stroke of half-time to give them hope. In the second half a mistake by Swansea goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski let a long shot by Pedro creep into his net.
Second placed Tottenham Hotspur dispatched easily of Stoke City 4-0 with a hat-trick for star striker Harry Kane leading the way. Stoke City are sitting right in the middle of the table at 10th place with their form on and off every week.
Manchester City were supposed to play city rivals Manchester United, but Manchester United were playing in the EFL cup final.
Crystal Palace beat Middlesborough 1-0 getting the first win under new manger Sam Allardyce. The three points were vital to Palace as they’re in a intense relegation battle just being above the zone. Middlesborough have had trouble scoring lately with the most ties in the league with ten.
Everton easily dispatched of Sunderland 2-0 with once again star striker Romelu Lukaku scoring both goals and bringing him up the scoring charts in the league, one away from Everton’s all time scorer record.
